TITLE: MAINTENANCE MANAGER
DEPT: MAINTENANCE
REPORTS TO: ENGINEERING MANAGER
JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for the supervision, training and technical support of maintenance staff. Preventive Maintenance Program development. Diagnosing equipment breakdowns and minimizing down time
by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate staff.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Directs employees, leads and supervisors engaged in performing repairs to manufacturing equipment in Production, Packaging, Processing, Receiving,
Shipping and other areas as required.
- Requisitions tools, equipment, and supplies.
- Inspects completed work for conformance to blueprints, specifications, and standards.
- Studies maintenance schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment.
- Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.
- Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet repair schedules and or installation of new equipment.
- Track labor and downtime and report daily to management.
- Maintain schedules and time sheets for maintenance crew.
- Write PM’s and generate work orders for maintenance team.
- Maintain PIP files, schedule PIP work, and USDA liaison for RFP.
- Maintain up to date equipment records and safety notes.
- Set goals for maintenance personnel and assist them in accomplishing objectives.
- Assist mechanics in solving repair issues and prioritizing assignments.
- Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of work crew.
- Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems.
- Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
- Maintains time and repair records.
- Confers with other supervisors to coordinate activities for individual departments as it relates to equipment.
- Performs activities of workers supervised.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of 10-years of experience in a manufacturing environment and excellent knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical, electronic, PCL mechanical equipment, refrigeration, boilers,
and facilities.
