The Sr. Manager of Tax & Treasury will lead the company’s tax policy, planning, compliance & provision activities in collaborating with external tax specialists along with being responsible for the various Treasury functions:  cash management, bank relations, & long-term borrowings management.  This person must have substantial knowledge of both C corporation & pass-through entity tax regulations in the state of California, must be capable of analyzing the tax impact of current & proposed company activities, & must be able to develop strategies to minimize tax liabilities.  In addition, this position will manage the company’s overall liquidity & capital structure strategy, bank relationships, treasury operations, & cash management initiatives.  The Sr. Manager of Tax & Treasury must have strong analytical, interpersonal, communication & leadership skills & be able to effectively collaborate & build cross-functional relationships to execute business initiatives.


  • Oversee the calendar of filing deliverables to ensure compliance with tax deliverables for US federal, state, & local income taxes, including but not limited to quarterly filings of sales and use taxes, vat and excise taxes
  • Lead the process for identifying and pursuing tax incentives and credits at the federal, state
  • Direct compliance of gross receipts, sales & use, property tax and other local, state, and federal taxes
  • Manage special tax consulting engagements with external tax advisors, manage the tax audit process
  • Partner cross-functionally to evaluate and forecast the impact of tax issues and incentives, prepare internal tax disclosures
  • Responsible for championing best practices in tax policies and procedures for the Company
  • Oversee all daily treasury and banking operations of the company’s cash management system, including managing daily cash balances and liquidity management
  • Identify, recommend, & oversee necessary changes to treasury processes, organizational structure & technology
  • Provide supervision, training, and mentoring to the Tax & Treasury team
  • Build & maintain corporate banking relationships & ensure adequate facilities for custody & safekeeping of corporate funds
  • Oversee preparation & monitoring of the 30-day corporate cash forecast and initiate changes if necessary and to insure that is consistent with the rolling 12 month and 5 year cash forecasts prepared by the FP&A group
  • Oversee management of treasury service providers in collaboration with the Legal department
  • Ensure investment portfolio is invested in accordance with the Company’s mission, investment policy and liquidity guidelines
  • Maintain controls to US GAAP standards and arms-length principles
  • All other duties, as assigned


  • MBA from a top-tier university; CPA certification a plus
  • 10+ years in tax and treasury management with top-ranked manufacturing firms; audit experience with a top-tier accounting firm a plus; at least 5 years of experience in leading tax planning and compliance initiatives
  • Expert level knowledge of IRS and state corporate income tax, laws, regulations and best practices; and strong knowledge of foreign tax compliance regulations
  • Solid history of assessing and understanding tax impact on company business, operations, and transactions in multiple jurisdictions – experience leading corporate tax audits
  • Self-motivated; demonstrated ability to drive tax and treasury policies and processes
  • Prior experience establishing and overseeing appropriate internal controls over tax & treasury practices
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, with capacity to gain buy in, mentor and influence across all levels of the organization and its stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to manage, mentor and build a team
  • Ability to effectively present information orally and respond to questions from a variety of internal and external stakeholders
